BlackBerry World – Maximum Number of PIN Changes

For those that find themselves switching BlackBerry devices frequently and using the same BlackBerry ID, you may receive one of the following errors when attempting to log into BlackBerry World:

  • You have reached the maximum number of PIN changes for this account. Please visit http://www.blackberry.com/appworld/support for more information.
  • There are too many PIN changes associated with this account (Error ID: 30801)

If you receive one of these errors, contact your wireless service provider who can reach out to BlackBerry Technical Support Services for additional assistance.

Before calling your wireless service provider, listed below are a few questions that you’ll want to review first.

What BlackBerry ID are you using currently on your device(s)?

Complete the following steps to identify what BlackBerry ID is associated with a device.

  1. While viewing your home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen
  2. Tap Settings followed by BlackBerry ID
  3. Within this menu, record the BlackBerry ID username
  4. If you use multiple devices, identify the BlackBerry ID username on each device before contacting support.

What is the PIN of each device that is associated with your BlackBerry ID?

Complete the following steps to obtain the PIN for your device(s).

  1. While viewing your home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen
  2. Tap Settings followed by About
  3. Within this menu, change the Category bar to Hardware
  4. Record the eight-digit PIN, e.g. ABCD1234.
  5. If you use multiple devices, obtain the PIN on each device before contacting support

    That might be the case in the US, Canada and the UK. But in other countries carrier have no idea about these issues, they do not know anything about the BlackBerry Technical Support level 2 or maybe they know but they don’t want to pay any connection fees.

    I live in Qatar, my main carrier is Vodafone Qatar. I always asked them to transfer me to your technical cars but they never had a clue regarding my request!

    Please offer a contact form to your team instead and for security purposes ask the users for a receipt to make sure they are the legal owners of the BlackBerry device.
