How to identify BlackBerry 10 smartphone information and obtain support

Do you know how to identify the name of your BlackBerry 10 smartphone? What about the IP address if you are connected to a Wi-Fi network? This type of information can be very useful when troubleshooting. Listed below is an overview of how to obtain some of this information from your smartphone.

Identifying your Device Name:

  1. While viewing the Home screen, swipe down from the top bezel
  2. Select Settings followed by About
  3. Your Device Name will be shown.

To change the name, tap on the Device Name field and enter desired new name. When finished, tap the Back button (in the bottom left corner) to save your change.

Identifying your Device PIN & IMEI:

  1. While viewing the Home screen, swipe down from the top bezel
  2. Select Settings followed by About
  3. Tap the Category bar and select Hardware
  4. Your device PIN and IMEI will be displayed.

Identifying your Device OS & OS Version:

  1. While viewing the Home screen, swipe down from the top bezel
  2. Select Settings followed by About
  3. Tap the Category bar and select OS
  4. Your device OS and OS Version will be displayed.

Identifying your Device IP and MAC address:

  1. While viewing the Home screen, swipe down from the top bezel
  2. Select Settings followed by About
  3. Tap the Category bar and select Network
  4. Network connections details for active connections will be displayed, including your IP and MAC addresses.

Identifying how much free storage space you have:

  1. While viewing the Home screen, swipe down from the top bezel
  2. Select Settings followed by Storage and Access
  3. Device Storage Details and Media Card Details will appear, indicating the amount of storage space used
  4. For an overview of how storage space is being allocated, tap on Device Storage Details or Media Card Details.

Note: Media Card Details will only appear if you’ve inserted a microSD media card in the smartphone settings.
