New versions of your device software will appear in the Settings view of BlackBerry Link, if you installed BlackBerry Link on your Windows or Mac computer. To update your device, use a USB cable to connect it to your computer, and then click Install Update.
If you’re not using BlackBerry Link, make sure you check it out because in addition to updating your device software you can do the following:
Backup and restore your device
Synchronize your contacts and calendar
Manage and synchronize your pictures, music, videos, and documents—wired or over your Wi-Fi network
If you use Internet Explorer 5.5 or later versions of Firefox you can update your device online by visiting the BlackBerry 10 Software Updates page. Provided you meet the browser requirements look for a blue Check for Updates button to update your software.
Remember, until the update is complete, you cannot use your BlackBerry smartphone. If you unplug or cancel the update process before completion, you may need to restart the update process to regain use of your smartphone.
