BlackBerry PlayBook 101: Using the PlayBook Playlist

HOW-TO / 11.12.12 / bswanncanada

Before heading out on your next road trip with friends, pass around your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet and allow each person to choose their favorite tunes by adding them to the PlayBook Playlist. What better way is there to create a road trip soundtrack that everyone can be happy with?

The steps below will show you how to add items to the Playlist, but before you can do that you first must have some music on your tablet. To learn more about adding music, check out our post How to Synchronize Music using BlackBerry® Desktop Software for PC.

Adding an item to the PlayBook Playlist

The PlayBook Playlist is built into the Music app on your tablet. It allows you to add or remove songs, albums and artists as you listen to your music. To add an item to your PlayBook Playlist:

1. From the Home screen, tap the “Music” icon
2. Select All Songs, Artist, Albums or Genres
3. Swipe down from the top bezel and tap “Edit”
4. Tap items to select them, and when ready tap “Add”

5. Press “Cancel” to exit the edit mode when finished.

Removing items from the PlayBook Playlist

You can easily remove one or more songs from the PlayBook Playlist; optionally, you can start over by removing them all at once:

1. From the Home screen tap “Music”
2. Select “PlayBook Playlist”
3. Swipe down from the top bezel and tap “Edit”
4. Do one of the following:

  • Tap “Select All”
  • Tap individual songs to select them

5. When finished tap “Remove”.
