How to cut, copy, and paste text using PRIV

To stay productive on your PRIV, you need to know how to cut, copy, and paste text.

Here’s how it’s done:

Before you can cut or copy text, you need to know how to select text. You can’t do the rest without it 🙂Step 1: Select text

There are a couple of different ways you can do this on your PRIV:

  • Double-tap a word, or touch and hold a word, and then move the selection handles until the text you want is selected.
  • While typing, double-tap the keyboard to place the cursor. Next, press and hold the Shift key, and then slide your finger across the keyboard. When your text is selected, release the Shift key.
  • When available, tap priv_selectall to select all

Step 2: Cut or copy text

After your text is selected, a text menu appears. Depending on the app, sometimes the menu appears above the text selection, and sometimes it appears at the top of the screen.

  • To cut text, tap Cut or priv_cut
  • To copy text, tap Copy or priv_copy

Step 3: Paste text

  1. Touch and hold the spot where you want to paste your text.
  2. Tap Paste or priv_paste.
