Yesterday, we announced the start of the BlackBerry 10.3.2 update global roll out to carriers around the world, and with this we thought it’d be a good time to compile the most frequently asked questions since the first update hit the U.S. a few weeks ago.
First and foremost: WHEN WILL 10.3.2 BE AVAILABLE to my carrier/in my country?
A: Great news, the global rollout has started! Please check with your carrier directly on specific local timing.
Q: How do I get the update?
A: The easiest way is to look for the alert in the notifications section of the BlackBerry Hub. You can also check for software updates through ‘Settings’ and selecting ‘Software Updates’. As always, we recommend you make a current backup of your BlackBerry using BlackBerry Link before any software updates.
Q: I bought my unlocked phone from ShopBlackBerry.com. When can I expect my update?
A: You will receive OS updates for unlocked devices at the same time as the ShopBlackBerry Country store you purchased it from. So if you purchased from the UK store, you will receive the update when it’s made available in the UK.
Should you have questions on this, or have issues updating please reach out to @BlackBerryHelp on Twitter. When contacting @BlackBerryHelp make sure you let them know your device PIN which can be obtained by going to ‘Settings’ followed by ‘About’ and changing the Category to Hardware.
Q: Why do I need to update my OS? What’s new with 10.3.2?
A: It is always recommended to update to the latest software as updates often have bug fixes and enhancements to improve your productivity. The BlackBerry 10.3.2 update comes packed with even more security and productivity tools. To name a few, you’ll get:
- Anti-Theft Protection – If your smartphone is lost or stolen, with the new anti-theft feature in BlackBerry Protect, the smartphone cannot used by someone else. - Camera enhancements in image capturing, improved face detection and more
- BlackBerry Calendar Meeting Mode customizations, time zone preview and growing numbers in month view
- And don’t forget BlackBerry Blend 1.2 – A new user interface, spell check capabilities, portrait mode in tablets and iPad performance improvements.
Q: What should I do before I update my device to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.2?
A: With the introduction of Anti-Theft features in BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.2 it’s important to verify access to your BlackBerry ID as well confirming your BlackBerry ID.
