To help you get the most out of the Calculator on your BlackBerry Z10, here’s a quick overview of how to use these various features.

Switch between a standard or scientific calculator

To switch between calculator modes, all you need to do is rotate your smartphone. When you are in landscape mode, you’ll be shown the scientific calculator, whereas portrait mode will show you the standard calculator.

View your previous calculations

A simple yet extremely useful feature is the ability to view your previous calculations. Provided you have performed some calculations, tap Previous calculations that appears along the top of your screen to review previous calculations. To clear this listing, tap Clear All.

Convert units (lengths, speeds and much more!)

If you need to convert units, consider using the built-in Unit Convertor which has support for converting the following units:

  • Angle, Area, Data, Energy, Length, Power, Pressure, Speed, Temperature, Time, Volume & Weight

To use this feature, open the Calculator app, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Unit Convertor. After selecting your desired conversion, enter a number and you can view the converted result right away. To reverse the order of conversion, tap the blue icon that shows the Up and Down arrows.

Calculate a tip (for yourself or a group)

The next time you need to figure out how much of a tip you’d like to leave, open up the Calculator on your BlackBerry Z10, swipe down from the top and tap Tip. Doing this will allow you enter the total bill, the amount of people splitting the bill, and the tip percentage would like to give as well choosing to optionally round up your result .
