Tip: Using your PlayBook right now? Check out the Tablet Optimized How To Demos for BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. Don’t forget you can hide the Browser navigation bar using the switch in the red box shown below to view more of the website. To show the navigation bar again, swipe down from the top bezel and tap on the switch.

User Guides and the Help app

The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet doesn’t include a printed user guide in the box, so here are a few ways you can access a user guide online in several different languages.

User Guide HTML – The BlackBerry Manuals & Help website provides HTML versions of the user guide as well as other documentation and useful links. You have the option to use the language dropdown box to view documents in various languages. A good bookmark would be this link, since it will always point to the most recent version of BlackBerry PlayBook tablet documentation.

User Guide PDF – In addition to viewing the HTML user guide, you can also view a PDF view on your tablet or a computer. Here are two tips on the topic of PDF files as well!

Tip 1 – Download files using BlackBerry PlayBook tablet browser

You can save files using the browser on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet just like you’d do while using a computer. To view progress while downloading your files, swipe down from the top bezel in the browser and select “Downloads”. Files saved can be found in the Downloads folder on the tablet. Curious on how to access this folder after saving a file? Check out the next tip!

Tip 2 – Copying files to and from the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet

To access the Downloads folder and copy files such as documents, photos, music, videos and more, use Wi-Fi® Sharing. To learn more about this option, check out this post on how to copy files to and from the BlackBerry PlayBook using Wi-Fi Sharing. Don’t forget you also have the option of using USB File Sharing – to learn more, check out one of the user guides above or use the Help app mentioned below.

Help app

While connected to the Internet using a Wi-Fi connection, the BlackBerry® Bridge™ app or Internet Tethering, tap on the Help icon on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet Home screen to view the user guide. You’ll always be viewing the most up-to-date information as well, since the content is pulled down over your network connection. Save a copy of the PDF user guide to view it on your BlackBerry tablet for times when you don’t have an active connection.
