How to Transfer Contacts From Your SIM card

So you just got your new BlackBerry® smartphone. Awesome! You moved your SIM card from your old mobile phone to your new BlackBerry smartphone, and you need to call your buddy and brag about your new acquisition – but your buddy’s number is not in your new smartphone. You have his number on your SIM, and you need it transferred to your BlackBerry smartphone. Fortunately, it is an easy process to copy your phone numbers from your SIM card to your device! Here are the steps to get your contacts added:

Add one contact from a SIM card to a BlackBerry smartphone

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, open Contacts.
  2. Display the menu and select SIM Phone Book. The SIM phone book will be loaded.
  3. Select the contact you want to import, and then select Add to Contacts.
  4. This will add that single contact to your BlackBerry smartphone Contacts list.

Add all contacts from a SIM card to a BlackBerry smartphone

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, open Contacts.
  2. Display the menu and select SIM Phone Book. The SIM phone book will be loaded.
  3. Display the menu and select Copy All To Contacts.
  4. This will add all contacts to your BlackBerry smartphone Contacts list.
  5. Check your Contacts on the device to ensure that they transferred properly.

Some users swap SIM cards among different mobile phones, and they may use the SIM card to store phone numbers. It is an easy process to copy your phone numbers from your BlackBerry smartphone to your SIM card. Here are the steps to get your contacts transferred to your SIM card:

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, open Contacts/
  2. Select the contact you want to import, Display the menu and select Copy to SIM Phone Book.
  3. Edit the name, phone number, and/or email.
  4. Click menu and save the entry.
  5. This will add that single contact to the SIM card entries.

NOTE: Contacts on the BlackBerry smartphone can be only saved to the SIM card individually.
